Basketball Game Preview: Ennis Lions vs. Red Oak Hawks

Ennis is 0-10 against Red Oak since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Ennis Lions will challenge the Red Oak Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ennis is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game last Friday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Terrell.

Meanwhile, Red Oak was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 60-55 to Wakeland. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 31st).

Ennis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Red Oak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Ennis was dealt a bruising 87-37 loss at the hands of Red Oak when the teams last played back in January. Can Ennis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
