Softball Recap: Deptford Takes a Loss

Deptford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pennsville Memorial Eagles. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Deptford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Pennsville Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Deptford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Atlantic County Institute of Tech on the 10th. As for Pennsville Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Pitman on the 10th.
