Basketball Game Preview: Mount Airy Granite Bears vs. East Wilkes Cardinals

The Mount Airy Granite Bears will venture away from home to challenge the East Wilkes Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Airy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Mount Airy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down North Stokes 46-31 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Wilkes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Alleghany by a score of 32-21 on Wednesday.

Mount Airy's record is now 4-10. As for East Wilkes, their record is now 6-10.

Mount Airy was taken down by East Wilkes 47-15 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Mount Airy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
