Georgia high school football rankings: North Cobb climbs 43 spots in this week's MaxPreps Top 25

No. 2 Grayson and No. 7 Collins Hill score lopsided wins before this week's big Georgia showdown.

The top five teams remained intact in the Georgia MaxPreps Top 25 football rankings this week. Of the four teams that played, the cumulative score was 177-64 including a 45-6 win by No. 1 Lowndes (Valdosta) over Griffin.

The Vikings took a 38-0 lead at halftime and took it easy from there as five different players scored touchdowns, including two rushing scores from Justin Lee. Lowndes plays a home game against Florida foe Oakleaf (Orange Park) (1-0) on Friday.

The big contest this week is 7:30 p.m. Friday when No. 2 Grayson (Loganville) hosts No. 7 Collins Hill (Suwanee) in a battle of 2-0 squads.

North Cobb (Kennesaw) jumped up a whopping 43 spots to No. 10 following a 28-14 win over previous No. 5 Buford, which dropped to No. 12.

Three other teams entered the Top 25: No. 6 Blessed Trinity (Roswell), No. 20 Coffee (Douglas) and No. 25 Athens Academy (Athens).
