Soccer Game Preview: Mona Shores vs. Jenison

The Mona Shores Sailors will head out on the road to take on the Jenison Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mona Shores is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Mona Shores lost 4-1 to Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Mona Shores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Reeths-Puffer are ranked 77th).

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Jenison sidestepped Caledonia for a 3-2 victory.

Mona Shores' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-11-1. As for Jenison, they now have a winning record of 6-5-5.

Mona Shores suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Jenison in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Sailors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
