League recap: De la Rosa breaks off league-leading run for Arvada

3A Metro - West recap September 17, 2013

Arvada's Elias De la Rosa recorded the longest rushing play in 3A Metro - West this season in his game against Skyview last week. De la Rosa's team beat the Wolverines as he sprinted for 64 yards on the play and finished with 80 in all.

D'Evelyn scaled the state rankings by moving to 89 from 115 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Jaguars were able to make move up by defeating Grand Junction Central 40-3.

Arvada's dynamic duo of De la Rosa and Travin Haris proved to be unstoppable against Skyview, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. De la Rosa threw for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns and Haris had 102 yards receiving. Jessy Jackson helped Arvada's passing attack out by catching 12 balls for 45 yards.

Matt Cisneros' team's dynamic duo of De la Rosa and Haris proved tough for Bill Nelson's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

De la Rosa put up the best numbers through the air as the Bulldogs defeated the Wolverines.

Haris was the best wideout in the league this week as Arvada beat Skyview.

He went 23-39 with 4 interceptions.

Matthew McClintock was the best running back in 3A Metro - West this week. In 34 carries, he ran for 166 yards as Conifer topped the Wolverines. Logan Weber also contributed to the rushing game with 74 yards on the ground.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Lutheran takes on Summit. At the moment, the Lions are in first, while the Tigers are in fifth.

Evergreen was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Cougars defeated Northridge 27-20 earlier in the week.
