Basketball Recap: San Angelo Central Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when San Angelo Central took on Temple on Friday. The San Angelo Central Bobcats pulled ahead with a 71-70 photo finish over the Temple Wildcats. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Wildcats are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Angelo Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Temple, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

San Angelo Central and Rockwall-Heath will face off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in San Angelo Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Temple, they will host Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
