Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Jacksonville

Marshall hasn't had much luck against Jacksonville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Marshall Mavericks will look to defend their home pitch against the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marshall is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to Mt. Pleasant. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 621st, while the Tigers are ranked 209th).

Jacksonville, on the other hand, haven't lost since January 11th and they too continued that trend. They and Mt. Pleasant finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 2-13-1. Jacksonville's draw makes their record 18-1-3 this season.
