Baseball Recap: Tulpehocken Comes Up Short

Wyomissing hit Tulpehocken with a six-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-9 to the Spartans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Trojans have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Logan Coderre and Hank Gehman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Coderre went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Gehman went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aidan Schwalm, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Tulpehocken's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Wyomissing, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tulpehocken will challenge Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wyomissing, they will face off against Brandywine Heights Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
