Football Recap: Springfield Triumphs + How To Watch

Springfield won the last time they faced Brookfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers walked away with a 20-7 victory over the Warriors. The Tigers pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Brayden Baird had a dynamite game, rushing for 72 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 94 yards and one touchdown. Those 72 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Alex Caldwell helped out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Springfield proved: they limited Brookfield to a paltry 2.4 yards per carry. While three picked up at least one total tackle, Joe Lyda stood above the rest. He made one tackle. Springfield's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.3.

The win got Springfield back to even at 1-1. As for Brookfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Springfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 40-21 defeat against Garfield on the 5th. As for Brookfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 46-21 victory against Sharpsville on the 5th.
