Basketball Recap: Middleton Comes Up Short

Middleton lost against Spoto back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Middleton Tigers were beaten by the Spoto Spartans 68-36. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Middleton's loss came despite strong showings from Darrion Marchman and Sherrick Oliver. Marchman posted eight points, while Oliver earned seven points.

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Spoto, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Middleton will take on Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Newsome knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Middleton likes a good challenge. As for Spoto, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-47 win against Freedom on the 22nd.
