Independence's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout  on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Trinity Trojans  a   17-0 shutout. The  win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.
Independence got a  massive  performance out of  Lila Manfredonia, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Paige Priebe, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 Independence  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in seven consecutive  games.
Independence pushed their record up to 17-3 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 Coming up, Independence will take on Harding in a tournament  on Wednesday. The Skippers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.38  runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
