            Softball Recap: Bishop O'Dowd Dragons vs. Alameda Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Bishop O'Dowd dropped their record down to 15-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost  10-0 to the Alameda Hornets. The shutout was out of character for the Dragons seeing as the last time the team failed to score was  back in March.

 Bishop O'Dowd saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jaella Mercado, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases. Mercado has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times she's  played.
As for Alameda,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 13-8-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs.
On Alameda's side,  not much got past  Julia Lambert, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up six Ks to keep Bishop O'Dowd off the board.
 On the hitting side,  Mia Wong and  Aaliyah Soderlund did most of the damage at the plate:  Wong  went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles, while  Soderlund  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. That's the most  doubles  Wong has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Desiree Shoblo, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Dowd will face off against Encinal at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Alameda, they will take on Castro Valley at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
