Baseball Game Preview: Provo Bulldogs vs. Payson Lions

For the second straight game, Provo will face off against Payson. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Provo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Provo and Payson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs skirted past the Lions 3-1. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Gehrig Orchard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Dawson Moore was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Provo's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Payson, they moved to 8-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
