Baseball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it six. They lost 15-4 to the Valley View Eagles. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Lakeside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kingston Fe'Ao, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

As for Valley View, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Valley View's side, Adam Ghiliotty looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ghiliotty has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Gomez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jovaughny Pena, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Valley View beat Lakeside by a score of 17-7 on Friday.
