Basketball Game Preview: Green River Pirates vs. North Sevier Wolves

The Green River Pirates will square off against the North Sevier Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Pirates fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They strolled past Tintic with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 59-45. Surprisingly, this marked the Pirates' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Rolando Anguiano went supernova, shooting 6-for-9 from long range and dropping a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Hernandez, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 17 points.

Meanwhile, North Sevier hadn't done well against South Sevier recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wolves had just enough and edged out the Rams 62-59. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Rams on their court since December 12, 2020.
