Softball Game Recap: East Mountain Timberwolves vs. Dexter Demons

East Mountain had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-20 to make it 14. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-0 to the Dexter Demons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Thursday.

As for Dexter, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

For Dexter's part, Danyela Munoz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Munoz has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Sanders, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Issabellah Aguilar was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dexter beat East Mountain by a score of 15-0 later that day.
