Football Recap: Choctaw Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Choctaw's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 40-29 victory over the Piedmont Wildcats. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Choctaw's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.4 points over those games. As for Piedmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Choctaw and Piedmont should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Yellowjackets (ranked 12th) will meet Putnam City (ranked 64th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Piedmont will take on Northwest Classen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (36 vs. 222).
