Baseball Recap: Chichester Comes Up Short

Chichester made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Friars/Pandas by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Friars/Pandas from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Zach Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Chichester saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Werley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Chichester's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Chichester will take on Academy Park at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.75 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, they will face off against Malvern Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
