It was a good run, but Canon-McMillan unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

M.J. Maruschak was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Alex Shank was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Canon-McMillan's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Norwin, they pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Knights beat Canon-McMillan by a score of 3-0 on Saturday.
