Softball Game Preview: Skipstone Academy Warriors vs. Lyndon Academy Terriers

The Skipstone Academy Warriors will head out to square off against the Lyndon Academy Terriers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Skipstone Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

On Tuesday, everything went Skipstone Academy's way against Creekside Christian Academy as Skipstone Academy made off with a 10-1 win. The Warriors have beaten the Cougars the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Maddie McRae was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Josie Willey was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Hardin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Lyndon Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against Peachtree Academy, falling 21-1. The Terriers have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Lyndon Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Skipstone Academy, their record is now 4-0.

Everything went Skipstone Academy's way against Lyndon Academy in their previous meeting on Wednesday, as Skipstone Academy made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Skipstone Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
