The Florida State University High School Seminoles will challenge the St. Johns Country Day Spartans at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Florida State University High School saw some tournament action on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Oakleaf 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Seminoles.
Sam Clark made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Clark was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other pitching news, Kade McLeod looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Brayden Smith was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tegan Washington, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, St. Johns Country Day never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Valdosta.
Ethan Bissell looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Preston Cole, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was TJ Sunderhaus, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
The win got St. Johns Country Day back to even at 2-2. As for Florida State University High School, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Florida State University High School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Johns Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 13 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
