Provine is 8-1 against Lanier since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Provine was able to grind out a solid victory over Forest Hill, taking the game 21-14. The Rams pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

JAYDEN THURMAN went supernova, rushing for 105 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 57 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 53 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Provine's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: HAUSTON STRICKLING and DAYSEAN OBANNER, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Lanier put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Murrah 44-0. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Lanier found their leader in sophomore Knolyn Bailey, who rushed for 160 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Bailey is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lanier was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Provine's record is now 2-4. As for Lanier, their record now sits at 6-0.

Provine couldn't quite get it done against Lanier in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 16-6. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
