Basketball Recap: Holy Trinity Comes Up Short

Holy Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Sacred Heart Academy Spartans and fell 65-35. The Titans were down 52-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Holy Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kiera Kozlowski, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards. Emma Mcdermott also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Holy Trinity smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Holy Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Sacred Heart Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Holy Trinity will face off against Kellenberg Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Kellenberg Memorial's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Holy Trinity's offense will have their work cut out for them. Sacred Heart Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
