Softball Recap: Hurricane Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Hurricane waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They never let the South Charleston Black Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Redskins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

South Charleston's batters probably weren't too happy with Kate Justice, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Justice has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jaden Jones was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alexander Anderson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Hurricane's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for South Charleston, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Hurricane will be playing at home against Parkersburg South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Charleston, they will venture away from home to face off against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
