Soccer Game Preview: Sumter vs. Lugoff-Elgin

The Sumter Gamecocks will challenge the Lugoff-Elgin Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sumter's offense. They came up short against Spring Valley on Tuesday, falling 4-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Gamecocks in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Lugoff-Elgin lost 8-3 to West Florence on Tuesday.

Sumter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lugoff-Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Sumter beat Lugoff-Elgin by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2022, winning 1-0. Does Sumter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lugoff-Elgin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
