Richlands unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 32-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Virginia High Bearcats on Thursday. The Blue Tornado haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richlands will welcome Gate City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Virginia High, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
