Soccer Recap: Bernalillo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Highland back in August, Bernalillo came back down to earth. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Artesia Bulldogs on Friday. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Bernalillo couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Brandon Valdez, who's now up to two this season.

Bernalillo now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Artesia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Coincidentally, Bernalillo and Artesia will both be playing Ruidoso the next time they take the pitch. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Warriors at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
