Softball Game Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. Gettysburg Warriors

Biglerville hasn't had much luck against Gettysburg recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Canners will square off against the Warriors at 4:15 p.m. Biglerville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

On Thursday, Biglerville made easy work of Fairfield and carried off a 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Canners, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Leah Strawsburg was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Biglerville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Gettysburg got the win against Bishop McDevitt on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-4.

Biglerville's record is now 13-4. As for Gettysburg, their record now sits at 4-12.

Biglerville suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Gettysburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can the Canners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
