Baseball Recap: Burbank Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Burbank brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They never let the Highlands Owls get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won nine in a row.

Nathaniel Boone was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brandon Herrera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Burbank was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highlands only posted a batting average of .143.

Burbank pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Highlands, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burbank is set to face off against their familiar foe Seguin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.7, the Matadors 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Highlands will take on rival Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
