Baseball Recap: Burton Takes a Loss

Burton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers, falling 19-12.

Juan Sanchez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Burton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Lick-Wilmerding, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burton will welcome Gateway at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Lick-Wilmerding, they will be playing at home against The Bay School at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
