While Jackson put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for General Brown. The Ironman/Ironladies blew past the Lions 15-0. The Ironman/Ironladies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Jackson got a great performance from Serenity Taylor as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Taylor has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jackson let Izzy Swisher and Aaliyah Barnett run wild. Swisher went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Barnett went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Barnett a new career-high. Abby Barnett was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Jackson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as General Brown only posted an OBP of .000.
The win (which was Jackson's sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for General Brown, they dropped their record down to 3-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will venture away from home to face off against James Monroe at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for General Brown, they will head out to square off against South Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
