Baseball Recap: Aldine Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Aldine had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Benjamin Davis Falcons. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Isaiah Nunez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alexander Martinez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jansyel Barbosa, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Aldine's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Benjamin Davis, they moved to 8-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Aldine will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
