Volleyball Game Preview: Gilmour Academy Lancers vs. North Allegheny Tigers

The Gilmour Academy Lancers will face off against the North Allegheny Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Joseph Academy came into Wednesday's match looking for another win against Gilmour Academy, but Avery Martin wouldn't allow it. The Lancers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Jaguars 3-2 thanks in part to Martin, who had 17 digs and two assists. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Gilmour Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-17, 14-25, 25-15, 15-12.

Meanwhile, North Allegheny earned a 3-1 victory over North Hills on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

North Allegheny was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 22-25, 25-14, 26-15.

North Allegheny's win bumped their record up to 7-3-2. As for Gilmour Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
