The Graham-Kapowsin Eagles will face off against the South Kitsap Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, Graham-Kapowsin made easy work of Bonney Lake and carried off an 11-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooklyn Pettit made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, MaKena Rodgers was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Izzy Vargas, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Graham-Kapowsin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Kitsap). They were the clear victors by a 27-4 margin over Spanaway Lake on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Like Graham-Kapowsin, South Kitsap also got a great game from a two-way player: Madison Bonilla. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Bonilla a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those RBI were her first of the season.
In other batting news, South Kitsap got a massive performance out of Kelsie Hynek, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Hynek a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maleah Sawyers, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.
Graham-Kapowsin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for South Kitsap, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
South Kitsap's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Graham-Kapowsin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for South Kitsap, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Graham-Kapowsin keep running through batters, or will the Wolves buck the trend?
Everything went Graham-Kapowsin's way against South Kitsap in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Graham-Kapowsin made off with a 10-3 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
