Softball Recap: Glendale Has No Trouble Against Ferndale

Glendale won the last time they faced Ferndale and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings blew past the Yellow Jackets 12-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Madison Peterson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Weld, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jayden Fry, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Glendale's record now sits at 4-8. As for Ferndale, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Glendale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Juniata Valley on the 30th. As for Ferndale, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-3 victory against United on the 30th.
