Basketball Recap: Grain Valley Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Grain Valley posted their closest victory since January 10th on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Fort Osage Indians out 52-49. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Indians are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grain Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Fort Osage, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-12.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles face off against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Osage, they will welcome Belton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
