Softball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tampa Catholic Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Stingrays of the 17-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Sumner saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Joiner, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Sumner's record now sits at 9-12. As for Tampa Catholic, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record.

As of now, neither Sumner nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
