Soccer Recap: La Salle Institute Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for La Salle Institute after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Schalmont Sabres by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, La Salle Institute can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Schalmont are ranked 50th).

La Salle Institute now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Schalmont, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. La Salle Institute will take on rival Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Schalmont is set to face off against their familiar foe Lansingburgh at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
