Basketball Game Preview: Taylor County Bulldogs vs. Maclay Marauders

The Taylor County Bulldogs and the Maclay Marauders will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Taylor County was able to grind out a solid victory over Jefferson County, taking the game 47-37.

Meanwhile, Maclay hadn't done well against Chiles recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Maclay had just enough and edged Chiles out 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marauders have posted since December 2, 2023.

Taylor County better keep an eye on Lauren Guyer. She was instrumental in Maclay's win, putting up 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Guyer has scored at least a third of Maclay's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Journey Kramer, who posted eight points.

Maclay's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Taylor County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
