League recap: Katt breaks off league-leading run for Hoxie

Northwest Kansas (8 Man) recap September 17, 2013

Connor Katt of Hoxie ran for the longest rushing play in Northwest Kansas (8 Man) this season against Wallace County last week. Katt's team fell to the Wildcats as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 178 in all.

Rawlins County took down Cheylin 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dylan Tiemeyer threw for 85 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

Colton Parker was the best receiver in the league this week as Trego topped Stockton. Parker tallied 6 receptions for 113 yards.

Tyrell Springsteel was a key player and the best on defense this week as Wallace County defeated Hoxie. He racked up 2.5 sacks.

Katt was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Chase Kennedy added to the ground attack by rushing for 51 yards.

Tiemeyer put up the best numbers in passing as the Buffaloes beat the Cougars. Tiemeyer's favorite target this week was Macrae Migchelbrink, who caught 3 passes for 42 yards.

Devon Ghumm was a passing and rushing force as the Golden Eagles beat the Tigers. He completed 8 passes for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 89 yards.

Leading Northwest Kansas (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards, Trego's Ghumm and Parker have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Ghumm has thrown for 237 yards this season, while Parker has 11 catches for 172 yards. Katt from Lance Baar's team leads the league in rushing with 342 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Quinter takes on Dighton. The Bulldogs are in fourth place, while the Hornets are in sixth place.

Rawlins County led the league in scoring this week by notching 49 points on Cheylin. Tiemeyer during the win.
