Football Recap: New Braunfels Thunder Beats Centex Homeschool for Their Third Straight Win

New Braunfels Thunder proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 46) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the CenTex HomeSchool Chargers 41-39. The victory was just business as usual for the Homeschool, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

New Braunfels Thunder found their leader in sophomore Aaron Ford, who rushed for 240 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 74 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. John Kroesche got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

New Braunfels Thunder was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 428 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 193 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why CenTex HomeSchool lost, don't look at Jadin Arrington. Despite the final result, he rushed for 149 yards and four scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Arrington also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks, making ten total tackles, and defending one pass.

New Braunfels Thunder's record is now 3-0. As for CenTex HomeSchool, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Braunfels Thunder will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for CenTex HomeSchool, they will face off against Texas Empowerment Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
