Basketball Game Preview: South Stokes Sauras vs. Reagan Raiders

The South Stokes Sauras and the Reagan Raiders will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in South Stokes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.

On Tuesday, it was close, but South Stokes sidestepped East Surry for a 56-54 win. Given the Sauras' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Cardinals are ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Reagan blew past Parkland, posting an 83-45 victory. The game marked the Raiders' most dominant win of the season.

Reagan is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for South Stokes, their victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

South Stokes was able to grind out a solid win over Reagan in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 77-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Stokes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
