Cactus Shadows dropped their record down to 22-3-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mesquite Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty ten  runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.
  Jack Scully was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  RBI.  Evan Hanish was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run.
As for Mesquite, their victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 18-8. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
On Mesquite's side,  Cruz Lantz looked comfortable as he  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Lantz has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Noah Forney was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Andres Lozano, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Cactus Shadows does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mesquite, they will square off against Mingus at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday.
