Softball Recap: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Mooresville Christian Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-West Hendricks, Monrovia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Mooresville Christian Eagles get on the board and left with an 18-0 win.
Avery Wolfe made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
In other batting news, Carlye Parks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Sophia Ward was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Monrovia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mooresville Christian only posted an OBP of .222.
Monrovia's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mooresville Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Coming up, Monrovia is headed away from home for the first time to take on North Putnam at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mooresville Christian, they will welcome Traders Point Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
