Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant lost against Loretto back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers took a hard 58-41 fall against the Loretto Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Mustangs are ranked 25th).

Despite the loss, Mt. Pleasant still got an impressive performance from Ryan Benderman, who on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Benderman now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Loretto, the win keeps them at an undefeated 28-0.

Looking ahead, Mt. Pleasant will be taking part in a tournament against Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Pleasant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season. Loretto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
