Benet Academy extended their winning streak to five on Sunday, bumping them up to 8-1. They walked away with a 57-45 victory over the Rich Township Raptors. That's more bragging rights for the Redwings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Rich Township, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Rich Township still got an impressive performance from Kavon Ammons, who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points. The matchup was Ammons' fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Taijon Eaton, who posted eight points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benet Academy will take on Lake Forest in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rich Township, they will be home for the holidays to greet Thornwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raptors will need to watch out since the Thunderbirds have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
