Independence had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-24 victory over the Centennial Titans. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Titans back in November of 2024, they had to take a 47-43 defeat.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Centennial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-11.

Independence and Centennial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Independence (ranked 406th) will meet Heritage (ranked 23rd) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Centennial will face off against Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Friday down 197 places (259 vs. 62).
