Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

St. Joseph won against Racine Lutheran/Prairie last Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Lancers put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 17-1 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Lancers, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Brock Smith looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, St. Joseph let Patrick Davidson and Peter Visconti run wild. Davidson went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Visconti got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Davidson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tim Falk, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Joseph's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
