Softball Game Preview: Coastal Academy Stingrays vs. Valley Center Jaguars

The Coastal Academy Stingrays will challenge the Valley Center Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Coastal Academy fell victim to Tri-City Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Stingrays' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Valley Center also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 13-0 to Westview on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost five in a row.

Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Coastal Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.
